Self Requested Tests - Frequently Asked Questions

Am I able to request tests on myself?

Yes, for a defined range of tests you are able to self request if you are aged 16 or over.  We will not normally do self requested tests on persons under 16 years.

How do I make a request?

Request forms are also available at our Collection Centres, you will need to enter your name, address and date of birth, and the test you are requesting. Please see "How do I pay?" for payment information.

How will I get my results?

You can have the results either emailed or mailed to your nominated address.
Note: Canterbury SCL takes no responsibility for the security of emailed results.

Will my healthcare provider receive a copy of the results?

Not normally, but we may seek your authorisation to do so if your results are grossly abnormal.

How do I pay?

Payment must be made at the time the sample is collected. Payment can be made by EFTPOS or Credit Card, we also accept cash payments at some of our sites but no cheques. Please note that not all our collection centres have payment facilities. For a full list of our Collection Centres and payment options available at each one download our Collection Centre Guide. Note: No payments will be accepted within 30mins of closing.
